CASTLE ON THE HILL
This project was commenced during the second half of 2015. The first component of the work was to complete the upper floor transformation of the entry foyer. This was achieved while the clients were taking a well earned holiday.
This included, removing the the vastly undersized window directly ahead as the front door is opened. Replacing this with a fixed panel of glass to allow maximum enjoyment of the expansive views over the city. The separating wall from the foyer to the lounge room was shortened to half height for the same reason. On top of this wall and the new glass panelling was solid feature hardwood with shadow lines and concealed fixings for the glass, all of which was custom machined on site.
Head down stairs to the entertainment room. Here we had the feature rock wall face lifted. Then we built out a customised bulkhead and nib wall to hide the required drainage and upper floor change over point. Behind this wall was placed a lighting feature to complement the natural rock wall which has now been framed by the contrasting new works. ( Note the detail of the bulkhead against the rock ).
Continuing on, the small but functional kitchen/ bar was installed with glass over heads to add that touch of further class.
The floor covering is once again our popular selection of Decoria to give the room some warmth and comfort. Turning around to face the view, the two large glass sliding doors were installed to also capitalise on the fantastic views this property has to offer.
Last, but not least we also refreshed the guest bedroom. This room was given full height mirrored robe doors to turn an otherwise small room into one to complement the large entertaining area of this level.
